As i mentioned in my first blog, I am the nosiest person everrrrrr. I love finding a little more out about people, what they like/dislike, their fears, dreams, hobbies, job etc. etc. You name it- I want to know it (as stalkerish as that sounds). So here goes with my 50 random facts!
- I have a first class degree in Ethics, Philosophy and Religion from Lancaster Uni. I worked my butttt off for my degree and receiving my classification was, hands down, the proudest moment of my life.
- I am a teacher in Preston and work in Year 4.
- I dropped out of Edinburgh University after 3 weeks.
- When I was younger my dream was to be a speed camera. I was obsessed with my Dad’s camcorder and thought a speed camera was a person who sat in the bushes at the side of roads filming cars. Weird I know.
- I fantasise over Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
- I am absolutely petrified of cats. I will cross the road and run if i see one.
- I am such a sore loser. “It’s the taking part that counts”- what a load of sh*t.
- When i was born my parents decided on ‘Kate’. My Dad then ‘forgot’ and spelt it wrong as Katie on the birth certificate.
- I got my first job aged 14 in a local cafe.
- I was head girl at school and again at college. I loved school and would do anything to re-live those years.
- My life if run from lists. I make a list for everything.
- I am a proud, young Catholic. I love my faith and the community around me.
- I biggest dream is to become a Mum. I want a huge brood of at least 5 children.
- I struggle pronouncing the word ‘squirrel’.
- I am obsessed with the smell of my Nana’s glasses case. Could not tell you what it smells of and nobody else ‘gets it’, but I just love it.
- I have a huge phobia of things that are clumped together- as do my Mum and two brothers. This fear has got worse as I’ve grown up, it’s making me hyperventilate thinking about it.
- Following on from number 16, I cannot stand the word ‘clump’. Ugh.
- I met Sean when I was 17 in Lourdes, France, whilst helping the sick and elderly on pilgrimage.
- When I first saw his back in mass I told my best friend that I wanted to marry him. The rest, as they say, is history. I knew from looking at his back that he was a swimmer.
- I swam competitively from the age of 7 for Fleetwood Swimming Club and absolutely loved it. I played water-polo too, but unsurprisingly, once in my teens my social life got in the way of training 6 times a week.
- I am completely obsessed with Instagram. I am constantly scrolling, refreshing or posting.
- When I laugh to much I get bad hiccups.
- I need/want/dream of, one day moving to Australia.
- When I was 8 I stole a brat from Woolworths. Maybe I am to blame for their demise in the recession.
- I faked needing glasses when I was younger because I thought they were cool. Sorry Mum.
- My Mum is my biggest inspiration in everything: person, relationship, fashion, house, lifestyle. I love her and she is my best forever-friend. I don’t tell her enough how much I love her.
- I have named all my future children (God willing).
- I farted in my brother’s mouth when I was younger and he threw up. It was a dare but I personally think he was being slightly over dramatic. LOL.
- Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, but I don’t eat it enough.
- I had a wart on my knee for 3 years in high school- it’s name was Barry. When I had him removed my set made ‘RIP Barry’ cards and I cried. I was very attached to my wart.
- I’ve suffered with IBS for 5 years.
- I drive a cute little Fiat 500 called Fynn.
- I loveeee primark lip products. They are amazing.
- Christmas Eve, Clean Cotton and Cinnamon Sticks are my favourite Yankee Candle smells.
- I apologise for everything.
- I judge people based on their manners. As my Dad always said “Manners cost nothing.”
- If I am nervous I play with my ear lobe or twist my earrings.
- I talk way too much.
- Laughing is my favourite therapy.
- I ran Liverpool Half Marathon in 2h 12 and want to do it again with a quicker time. One day I will do London Marathon.
- I really want to do a make-up course to train professionally.
- My favourite film is ‘The Guardian’.
- I relate to a lot of people of Insta like they are my real friends. I feel like I know them inside out, when in reality, I have never spoken to them.
- My favourite city is Manchester.
- I used to have to sleep with a bed light on. I only stopped doing this aged 18.
- I was on the TV with my cousin Tom who appeared on ‘The Voice’.
- When I was 17 I was stalked round Amsterdam airport on my own in the middle of the night by the creepiest French man I have ever met.
- Sean proposed to me on New Year’s Eve last year whilst skiing in Bulgaria. He will, no doubt, tell the most horrific story of when he proposed and how much of a bitch I had been leading up to the proposal that day. Oops.
- I worked at Ribby Hall Holiday Village for 3 years and trained as a lifeguard, segway instructor and swimming teacher.
- I lied when I was in Reception and pinched my brother’s 50m badge and showed it off in assembly in front of the school. He obviously grassed on me and I got in so much trouble when I got home- I loved my moment in the spot light though as the most amazing 4 year old swimmer there ever was!
